Notes

General Note
"This booklet was first published by the State Historical Society of Colorado in 1952, bearing the by-line of LeRoy R. Hafen, then Colorado state historian, now state historian emeritus. This revised edition incorporates much of Dr. Hafen's original text. In the light of later information, some changes and additions have been made, especially in the first part, pertaining to Prehistoric Peoples. The new material in that part was compiled by Willena D. Cartwright, curator of state museums, State Historical Society of Colorado, in consultation with H. M. Wormington, curator, department of archaeology, Denver Museum of Natural History." -- title page verso
