While on business in Cartagena, Matthew Rey is kidnapped by ruthless bandits. The kidnappers know about a $3 million insurance policy that covers Matthew's ransom and, to make matters worse, the insurance company suspects fraud and refuses to hand over the money. His son Nick goes to the FBI for help, but they too have grown suspicious of Matthew and his frequent trips to Colombia.
